Colours of Christmas (a Caribbean flavour) - Various Artists
Release Year: 1998

Colours of Christmas is a collection of 12 traditional and new Christmas tunes that will bring a warm Caribbean feel to your Christmas celebration year after year.

Natahlee puts us in the Christmas mood with the opening track Caroling Caroling and returns midway through the CD with a French version of Silent Night. Blood (aka Anderson Armstrong of Square One) adds real Caribbean flavor to the mix with his Calypso Christmas. John King's upbeat Put Christ in Christmas is a reminder of the true meaning of Christmas. On the flip side, Eric Lewis' She mistake me for Santa Claus is a fun song sure to bring a smile to your face. Gentle & Apache strike a reggae vibe with their unique version of Little Drummer Boy. You have got to love this one.

My favorite track is Reggae Ragga Christmas by Albert Olton. I can't say enough good things about this one. Solid lyrics, excellent vocals along with outstanding production and musical arrangement makes this a song you'll want to keep listening to long after Christmas is over. This track alone is more than enough reason to get a copy of Colours of Christmas.

Colours of Christmas (a Caribbean flavor) is one you'll want to add to your CD collection.

The Christmas Album - Various Artists
Release Date: December 9, 1997
Label: VP Records
Genre: Reggae

The Christmas Album is a 13-track CD of Christmas classics and original material performed by some of the best known names in reggae music. Beres Hammond, Sanchez, and Freddie McGregor are just a few of the big names present on The Christmas Album.

My favorite track is Nikesha Lindo's version of Joy To The World. Excellent production by Willie Lindo (dad) along with outstanding musicianship combine to make Nikesha's rendition of Joy To The World fresh and new. You'll feel like you're hearing this Christmas classic for the first time. Big brother Kashief also contributes to the music and background vocals.

Give Love On Christmas by Fiona is marvelous. Fiona's first-rate performance leaves you feeling warm and snug even when there's snow on the ground. And what would Christmas be without a little levity and fun tunes like Lady Saw's Rich Man For Christmas. This one's a winner, great lyrics and superb sound too. Producer/saxophonist Dean Fraser's Holiday Medley is fabulous. Both upbeat and soothing at the same time, Holiday Medley adds a reggae vibe and terrific sax to several holiday standards. Dean Fraser is brilliant.

Other standout tracks include Starting Today (Beres Hammond), Christmas In The Air (Sanchez), and Warm Jamaican Christmas (Wayne Wonder & Baby Cham). The Christmas Album is one you're sure to thoroughly enjoy year after year.

Fyahside Christmas - Krosfyah
Release Year: 1997

Fyahside Christmas is a 6-track CD of original Christmas music from one of Barbados' top soca acts. Fyahside Christmas is fabulous music that will make you wish everyday were Christmas. From the upbeat and bouncy My Sweet Lord to the soulful No Christmas Without You, this CD is filled with one gem after another. Edwin Yearwood's moving vocals along with flawless production combine to make No Christmas Without You a timeless Christmas love song that is sure to be cherished year after year. Every track on Fyahside Christmas is a hit.

The CD has a unique design. Instead of the usual disk shape it's in the form a Christmas ornament. Festive, but it won't play in a car CD player. So put it in your home stereo CD player and play it over and over. This is a great CD. There can be no Christmas without Fyahside Christmas.

                    Track Listing:

1. My Sweet Lord
2. No Christmas Without You
3. End of the Rope
4. Jah Son
5. Feels So Good
6. Celebration
