Webmaster's Review:
Stage One

Sean Paul's debut CD Stage One is an impressive collection of hit singles. Stage One is an eclectic mix of hot dancehall hits and entertaining skits all in an enhanced CD format for multimedia play on a PC or Mac. The enhanced CD includes a video of the Sean Paul/Mr. Vegas smash-hit single Hot Gal Today. Also included is a photo gallery of Sean Paul and the Dutty Cup Crew, as well as an interview the dancehall sensation himself.

Stage One is a collection of some of Sean Paul's best work (minus the hit single, So Appealing). Included among the hits that have helped establish Sean Paul as major star in the dancehall arena is
Infiltrate
- on the same "Playground" riddim as the Beenie Man classic, Who Am I. Other standout tracks include She Want It, Hot Gal Today, Real Man, Deport Them, and No Bligh, just to name a few. The 26 tracks on Stage One include some of the most popular dancehall riddims from several Jamaican Production houses. The production quality is excellent. Producers include Jeremy Harding, Donavon Germain, Tony Kelly, Steely & Clevie and others. Dancehall fans won't be disappointed.

There are a half-dozen short skits mixed through the CD. Examples of Things Not To Do In Bed made me laugh. Though entertaining, after hearing the skits a couple of times, you'll probably want to skip over them to get to the music. Maybe they should've been placed together at the end of the CD or as part of the multimedia package. Nevertheless, they give a unique feel to an already excellent CD.

Stage One is just the beginning from an artist sure to have a bright future as a dancehall superstar.

The cd overall should get a 3/6 at most. In stage one Sean Paul went all out, but for this one he has gone too commercial. The tracks that are really hot are good, and the tracks that dont sound so good, are horrible. "Dutty Rock" has too many skits for a poor quality cd. Before Sean sells out he should listen to Stage One again.

I didn't like Reggae till I listened to Sean Pauls music, I like all his music....I think it's great. When Gimme The Light came out I loved it and I listened to the rest of his music and I liked all of it. I think he's awesome. I think his music is 6: Off-the-Scale!!!
